The Hollywood Foreign Press Association today unveiled its list of nominees for the 2008 Golden Globe Awards for films and television productions released in 2007. This is the first year that the annual kudo fest will include an award for Best Animated Feature.

Landing slots in the category are DreamWorks Animation’s Bee Movie, Disney/Pixar’s Ratatouille and Twentieth Century Fox’s The Simpsons Movie.

Surprisingly, Sony Pictures Classics' critically acclaimed Persepolis, Sony Animation's great-looking summer pic Surf's Up and Robert Zemeckis’ performance-capture animated Beowulf didn't make to the final round which were each better films than 'Simpsons Movie'.
