DreamWorks News: Arnett to be 'Ambassador'
Apr 11, 2006 - 10:00 PM
"With ""Arrested Development"" presumed dead, actor Will Arnett, a member of its ensemble cast, is getting ready to embark on an ambassadorship.

DreamWorks and Paramount have picked up ""The Ambassador,"" a feature pitch by Arnett and Michael Schur, that will be a starring vehicle for Arnett.

The story centers on a former U.S. vice president's privileged son (Arnett), who is assigned an ambassadorship in Europe, where he quickly becomes the quintessential ugly American. Schur is now writing the script and will share a story by credit with Arnett.

Arnett, one of the stars of ""Arrested,"" is shooting ""Blades of Glory"" for DreamWorks and can be heard as one of the voices in ""Ice Age: The Meltdown."" He will next appear in the Robin Williams-starring comedy ""RV,"" which opens this month, and has a starring role in ""Let's Go to Prison,"" which will be released in November.

Schur is a writer-producer on NBC's ""The Office"" and was a writer on ""Saturday Night Live.""
