DreamWorks recently announced its acquisition of the domestic and remake rights to Slamdance favorite Paranormal Activity.

Oren Peli's low-budget haunted house film – shot on digital video over the course of a single week in his own home – will be released in the U.S. directly to DVD. A release date for the disc has yet to be announced.

Jason Blum and Steven Schneider will produce the eventual theatrical version of Paranormal Activity, though neither talent nor timetable has yet to be established.
