DreamWorks News: Exclusive: 'The Pacific' Update
Apr 19, 2007 - 01:01 AM
Anonymous has given us production update on Steven Spielberg and Tom Hank's upcoming mini-series 'The Pacific'.

The scooper tells us that 'there will be a public meeting in Mossman next week to discuss production of the Pacific which will be filmed in the area starting in July and continuing for about 8 months. The public will be able to put questions to the production representatives. The meeting will be held at the Mossman Community Hall Thursday next week (April 28th) at 7pm.

The source also tells us that 'apparently Steven Spielberg will be making a major announcement today or tomorrow'.

The production will be managed from the studio in Melbourne with filming in North Queensland at Rocky Point (Near Mossman and Port Douglas) and locations in the Northern Territory.

The area was also the location for ?Fools Gold which was filmed just before Christmas with Kate Hudson, Matthew McConaughy and Donald Sutherland. Many locals were extras so there will be a lot of interest when casting commences.

Stay tuned as we will be bringing you up to date."
