"In July, director Steven Spielberg spent six weeks in Malta, shooting his controversial thriller Munich, about the aftermath of the 1972 killings of 11 Israeli athletes at the Olympic Village.
When that wrapped, it was reported that the production would move to undisclosed parts of Europe and New York City to continue filming. Well, ComingSoon.net has learned from an anonymous source when and where in New York City Spielberg will be filming.
Specifically, the production team has been preparing an undisclosed section of Fort Green in downtown Brooklyn for a three-day shoot starting on September 25th, which will revolve around a house that doubles as the safe house used by one of the spies in the film. While most of those who live in the neighborhood know what is going on, those who venture into the neighborhood might be a bit confused by the production's ""working title"" of ""King's Cross,"" which is on all the flyers that block off certain areas from parking cars.
The neighborhood is fairly frantic with preparation for the shoot, as houses and storefronts are remodeled and renovated in order to fit in with the film's early '70s setting, and after they're done shooting, it's all going to go back to how it was before at a huge cost. The lives of the neighborhood's residents are also being turned upside down to accommodate Spielberg, as at least one tenant is being moved to a hotel for the week, so that Spielberg can use his/her apartment as a base camp during filming.
The source also reported that another location in an unknown part of Queens is going through similar renovations in order to double as another safehouse. Hopefully, we'll have more developments, or even a set report or two, as they arise.
