DreamWorks News: 'Munich' is #1 worldwide two weeks in a row
Feb 08, 2006 - 11:52 PM
"Munich, Steven Spielberg's controversial film about the 1972 Olympics hostage crisis and its aftermath, is currently the most popular film outside America.

The political thriller earned $13m (?7.4m) in 40 countries this week, bringing its overall non-US tally to $34m so far. It is the number one film for the second week running.

Munich is far ahead of its competition: the number two movie is DreamWorks's other film - Memoirs of a Geisha, which earned $9m (?5m) this week. The adaptation of the Arthur Golden bestseller was banned in China but still earned an impressive $61m overseas to date.
