"'Dreamgirls' star Anika Noni Rose has joined the USA limited TV series 'Starter Wife.'

Rose joins Judy Davis in the cast additions. The limited series will be a six-hour adaptation of Gigi Levangie Grazer's bestselling novel.

Peter Jacobson, Chris Diamantopoulos, Stephen Moyer and Bethany Whitmore also have joined the cast.

Debra Messing stars as a divorcee on a quest to redefine herself after years of marriage to a Hollywood studio head.

Production is set to begin shortly in Australia.

Sara Parriott and Josann McGibbon are writing the project, to be directed by Jon Avnet.
