Historical miniature war gaming is a hobby that attempts to depict battle scenarios under realistic parameters.
Planned for the summer of 2006 at Historican, The Greater Pacific War Project will tell the history of the Greater Pacific War of 1931-1945. It will feature several war games of top quality depicted in miniature with realistic terrain, rules and award winning umpires.
The purpose of the project is to advance the art of historical war gaming, teach the history of the Greater Pacific War and provide an exciting event for war game enthusiasts.
The project will be a community-shared effort through the blog http://corpcommander.blogspot.com and a series of workbench articles on The Miniature Page http://theminiaturepage.com.
Principles involved are Project Director, Peter Mancini, USA, an award winning miniature umpire, Terrain Advisor, Martin Barber, Wales, UK, recognized world wide for his terrain work on Operation Market Garden Mega Game: A Bridge too Far, Rules Advisor, Sam Scott USA, recognized for his work on the rules for Operation Market Garden, A Bridge too Far.
Peter English, USA, award winning umpire. All three are recipients of an HMGS-East Battle Star intended to recognize service or achievement exemplifying the highest qualities of Historical Miniature Gaming. Baxter Key of Figures, Armor and Artillery, USA, LLC based in Nashville is a primary supporter and will lend an advisory role on models and the industry.
The DreamWorks mini series is in pre production for 2006/2007 release on HBO."
