DreamWorks News: Will Karen Allen return to play LaBeouf's mother?
May 13, 2007 - 04:16 PM
Roger Friedman from Fox News briefly talked with George Lucas at Time magazine's dinner for the 100 most influential people. Friedman's report on the brief chat with Lucas confirms news we have heard before and brings up the question if Marion will be in Indy 4.

Here follows the Indiana Jones 4 related part of Friedman's article:

Lucas is currently preparing ""Indiana Jones 4"" with Harrison Ford, Blanchett and Shia LaBoeuf. The latter plays Ford's son, which means his mother was possibly the character Karen Allen played in ""Raiders of the Lost Ark.""

""I can't say,"" Lucas said when I brought up Allen.

Lucas says that Sean Connery still hasn't signed on, but his character, Indy's dad, is in the script. Other than that, his lips are sealed.

""Steven thinks we can keep the whole thing a secret,"" Lucas told me. ""I explained to him that it's impossible nowadays. We can't live like that.""

So then, tell me more about ""Indy 4,"" I suggested.

""Oh no,"" replied Lucas with a smile.

The most interesting part of Fox News' article is that Lucas is mentioning more Star Wars feature films, and not just TV shows.

Note: Cate Blanchett's casting has yet to be announced officially! That LaBeouf will play Ford's son is still only a fan-favorite rumor. As well that Karen Allen will reprise her role as ""mother"" Marion Ravenwood.

Thanks to Jared Barrett, Aaron Higgins and 'Ryan from Baltimore' for the news link.
