DreamWorks News: Winstone Signs 'Indy 4'
Mar 29, 2007 - 02:50 AM
The Hollywood Reporter announced today that actor Ray Winstone has signed on for a major role in Indiana Jones 4.

But in reality Ray Winstone still seems to be in negotiations as DreamWorks mentioned to us that no deals are set yet!

Although the film's plot is being closely guarded, sources said Winstone will play star Harrison Ford's ""sidekick"". So far absolutely nothing about the film story or characters has been leaked out so Winstone could very well play a major villain instead of a sidekick.

But still, the thought of Ray Winstone playing Indy's sidekick or partner (professionally speaking) does seem very interesting.

Also, Cate Blanchett is NOT on board yet! She's in negotiations. Blanchett and Winstone will be officially on board when the deals are signed. Until that official confirmation comes, both actors - and all other rumored cast members - remain in the Rumored list. And we may expect many more Indy 4 casting rumors these coming weeks!

London-born Winstone, who played Jack Nicholson's partner in crime in the best picture Oscar winner The Departed, recently also appeared in Anthony Minghella's ""Breaking and Entering."" Some of his other film credits include The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Cold Mountain and Sexy Beast.

A big thanks to Maxime Ferland, Michael Gerner, Tim Wilson, Colin Smith, Mike Stevenson, Keith McCall, Wil Fraserl, Rob Smart, Jayson Crittenden, Jared Barrett, DarthFett and Ryan from Baltimore for informing us so fast.
